Reds- all of the aoe reds are excellent as they will instantly lift the aoe burden off of your game, clover, shattering justice, hardlightīoss items- honestly. Greens- ukelele, wax quail, leeching seed, harvester scythe, will o wisp, White- bleed, movement speed (goat hooves preferred but both are good), crit glass, syringes, stun grenade (since you attack constantly with your primary) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ITEMS (imo the best ones to pick up if you have a choice):
always counter your weaknesses on builds with commando because hes just an overall weak survivor who needs to be rounded out before he can wreak havoc gauge your items on what you actually need as the run goes commando scales absurdly well (due to how proc chains start scaling hardcore past first loop) for being a weak survivor, the problem is getting there. it will save hours of wasted time playing runs that is eventually doomed because rng hates youĪ lot of praying to god you get aoe clear, and then not really much else.

On eclipse feel free to reset until you get gasoline/uke/willowisp/aoe clear on stage 1.
it can get really numbing at times honestly. most bread and butter survivor ever and easy to play. Proc and aoe is all you really need (honestly a requirement really). keep shooting and moving, shooting and moving. the rest will come as the run goes.ĭifferent strategies for different difficulties or game modes ruin in particular is the strongest on this survivor and its not even closeĪll you need on commando is proc and aoe. If coins are not an issue, it is highly recommended to swap out for hooks and ruin past first loop. People shit on grenades but it gives a valuable way to proc bands if you don't have any while also having aoe damage, something commando especially lacks early Phase round can proc bands if you need it to (though the condition is weird) while phase blast is more damage upfront but doesn't proc bands. actually doesnt really matter IMO for the most part (you always take the slide however).
